For over 30 years owner, Anne Saxby, has been providing the highest quality dentistry to the people of Portobello and the surrounding areas. We are proud to still be a fully independent practice, with a dedicated focus on patient care and experience.

Our fantastic team is made up of five full-time dentists and hygienists, supported by a full staff of qualified dental nurses and receptionists, providing patients with a friendly, professional and experienced approach to their complete dental health.
We believe that honesty is the best policy – there may be several routes to solving any one dental problem and we know that the patient’s wishes come first. We will always work with you to find a treatment route with which you are most comfortable, and our qualified dental healthcare professionals are happy to discuss any questions you may have.

NHS Patients
We are delighted to be an Edinburgh NHS dental practice, with the majority of our patients being registered under the NHS.
​
The NHS is a great service that is designed to make sure that everyone can receive the treatment they need, when they need it.
​
NHS dental fees are set by the government and not by the practice. These fees vary depending on the type of treatment that you require. Many patients may find that they are exempt from these NHS dental charges. Please visit the Scottish government’s NHS resources page to find out if you are eligible for exemptions.
While we are an NHS practice, we do however recognise that there are some situations where there may be a treatment option that you prefer, which is not covered by the NHS. As a general rule the NHS covers treatments relating to health and function, whereas private options, such as Invisalign or Veneers, are more aesthetically driven. We will always be open, honest and transparent about all the treatments options available to you, allowing you to make an informed decision about which option you are most comfortable with.
